the action to take place The ensemble playing was good and the support roles were effective in the story telling. The sisters of Nonnberg Abbey were a joy to listen to, and their Mother Abbess, played by Elizabeth Phillips, impressively sang “Climb Ev’ry Mountain”.
There is no show without the von Trapp children fleshed out for this production by Jessica, Ben, Maisie, Thomas, Millie, Amy and Anya. They all had bundles of charm; a special mention must go to Millie Wright playing Brigitta. A strong bond was visible with their governess which added to their performances. They sang and danced with complete assurance.
Liesl and Rolf ’s blossoming relationship was believably portrayed by Jessica Morris and Alex Lythe. They really came into their own in the duet, “Sixteen Going On Seventeen”. Alex’s handling of the Abbey search for the von Trapp’s showed his capability in handling a dramatic scene.
