ACT Reviews 2022-2023 Season

of floating around with the music and being enveloped by it. I loved that there were quite a few stereo typical songs that one often presumes can only be sung by a certain gender. I loved the importance that the song was sung well by the opposite gender of what one was expecting. This gave a very interesting slant and thought provoking approach to talent and presentation. Bravo for inviting me to consider this different approach as I appreciated and took pleasure in your achievement. The changeover from one scene to another was quite smooth and we were not waiting long before the next number. In fact, to maintain variety, some cast members came on before the last song had finished to enhance the transition into the next song whilst others stayed on stage to continue with the next number. There was no live orchestra or musicians on stage, yet the volume of the backing tape was just right and blended in with the talent on stage. The lighting was subtle and did not overpower anyone's performance. Did any of the songs warrant a following spot? With a dark background and a bright spot, could have added another change of style to the ambience. If no spot was available, could different parts of the stage be lit up with different shades of brightness or colour? There were a couple of times when I became distracted by cast members being visible when they were due to make their entrance onto the stage as they were not completely hidden by the tabs. Overall, the songs were brilliantly sung and the show was very

entertaining. Team work, in all aspects (on and off the stage), was very noticeable. Perhaps a little bit more choreographed movement to cover the stage more with some compositions
