ACT Reviews 2022-2023 Season

giving a lovely balance. The musical content included a selection from “Jersey Boys”, and David Bowie’s “Life on Mars”. There is no better tonic than having a laugh; comedy brightens the soul. In the evening we were treated to, not one but two, comic numbers. John Matthias told the tale of “Old Mexico” with laughter ringing out. It was Fran Davies who stole the night with “The Alto’s Lament”. To the audience delight with great aplomb Fran acted out the plight of being an alto. To advertise the society’s next fully staged production a snippet from “The Gondoliers” was performed: this must have guaranteed ticket sales. After a satisfying main course the desert has to finish off the meal. For the encore for this evening of musical excellence, “You Can’t Stop the Beat” from the musical “Hairspray” left the audience going home on a high. The audience is never disappointed when attending an award winning “Three Towns In Concert” presentation.
